Contemporary music & composers

We will perform music by Schoenberg and other composers as well. Schoenberg is the music composition inventor of the 12 tones system, he also represents classical music that reached the milestone of the contemporary period, which also means the mission for Vergilius Chamber Orchestra is to promote and premiere contemporary composers’ music. We will not limit ourselves to just in contemporary music.

The conductor has both musical and artistic executive experiences in North America, Europe and Asia. The musicians are highly trained and professional, most of them are either music professors or Oklahoma City professional symphony musicians. The combination of these qualities have created a high level orchestra. See the concerts in person and you will agree.

An orchestra’s leader is the conductor. In practice sessions and live performances, they employ precise gestures to guide members of an orchestra or chorus and groups of singers through a piece of music. To achieve the desired performance of the piece, they provide instructions on factors like tempo, volume, tone, and pitch.

Passion, intelligence, perception, musical ability, and charisma are all important. The respect a conductor commands, the strength of his or her musical vision, and the competence and facility with which musical ideas are conveyed through both physical movement and vocal instructions all contribute to the conductor’s authority.
